Sold Out
lyrics
A long time ago there was a young man
who went by the name of Steve. (Steve)
He had always wanted to spend his days
Living on the sea. (sea)
Well he sold his house, bought a boat
and left one misty morning.
He said goodbye all you ignorant stiffs
who impose all your norms
Well he sailed all day
and he sailed all night.
Through heavy rain and blistering sun
he wanted to forget.
Well he lost his way
and his confidence waned
He drowned his fears
in some bottles of beer
as he wished it all away!
When he awoke he thought he would choke
on his bitter morning throat.
Hanging his head out the side of the boat
He thought he was going to throw.
Well he blinked his eyes nineteen times
cause he thought he saw a girl.
with fins of a fish and the body of a chick
he thought he was going to hurl.
Well she jumped out the water
and landed aboard
He tried to scream
tried to shout
but something had a hold.
She grabbed a seat
and slid right down.
Pulled out a shell placed it on her lips
and started to play this tune
Instantly he fell in love with
this beauty from the sea.
He decided he would marry her
and together forever they'd be.
He jumped in the water swam down below
to say their watery vows.
He was met by everything
a massive fishy crowd.
Well she lent in close
and whispered so soft
“I'm not a 'maid from the sea
I'm a tusked narwhal”
Well he grabbed a fin
and he held it tight
(He said) “I'm in love with you
will yo love me to
and together forever we'll be?”
Ten years later they are still
happy that they met.
Never before has a tusked narwhal
married a normal man.
When all of a sudden some fishermen
caught sight of his swimming beauty.
They started to throw sticks and spears
as she tried to get a way.
He watched in fear
as the fishermen tried
to snag the girl that he loved
and feed her to their friends.
A scream of pain (waa)
The water turned red.
The spear went through.
It was through.
He shouted out and wept.
La la la la,
La da da da da da.
La la la la,
La da da da da da.
La la la la,
La da da da da
La na na na na nar (continues through back)
Oh oh, no no no
no no no no no (Why)
Oh oh, no no no
no no no no no
no no no no no
no no no no Narwhal.
John Anaya is my music father. He literally kept me alive as a musician offering me work when no one else would. His music is great, his love for music is greater. Pockets
